Responding To A Need

Moyra Stephen founded Cardinal Nannies & Companions Inc. in 1985, largely in response to her own difficulty in finding qualified in-home care for her son with special needs. Moyra's background in volunteer nursing and market research, plus her own experience in providing in-home care for other children at an earlier time in life led her to the realization that her needs were shared by many others in the community. The seed of an idea was sown, and out of it, Cardinal Nannies and Companions Inc. grew to provide reliable quality care across the country.

With the number of two-income families so prevalent today and all the health care cutbacks people have had to face, in-home care and companionship is more in demand than ever - whether it be to look after small children, provide additional help or respite for families caring for a disabled loved one, or to help seniors remain as independent as possible. Cardinal Nannies has grown to include an office staff of four, but Moyra still personally interviews and selects every caregiver... because people who care make all the difference.
